A workshop at the European Robotics Forum 2017

Edinburgh, Scotland, UK, March 24

Guidelines for the Speakers
We have only 90 minutes! In order to make effective use of this short time, we will need to stick to a
well organized structure and schedule. We therefore invite all the
presenters to adhere strictly to the following guidelines and timing.
The workshop consists of five parts:
- Introduction
- Statement from the commission
- 1st round of short statements presentations - added value of Robotics for IoT
- 2nd round of short statements presentations - added value of IoT for Robotics
- Round table discussions
- Plenary discussion and summing-up
For all presenters
A laptop will be provided at the forum with your presentation, to minimise switching time between speakers.
Please send (to m.dragone@hw.ac.uk) your presentation (ppt/pdf) by the end of the 21st of March.
Your presentation should take maximum 4 minutes (strict).
Please try to structure your presentation as follows:
- One introductory slide with name, organization, position in organization, and whether
you consider yourself as being primarily from the Robotics community,
the IoT community, or from the AI community. No overviews.
- Max five slides that address some of the following questions:
- Question 1 - Added value: What is the (observed or potential) added value of integrating IoT and Robotics solutions in your experience?
Give ONE specific example.
- Question 2 - Enablers: What AI and cognition enabler - if any - have you used in your experience?
- Question 3 - Platforms: What IoT and/or Robotics platforms you consider mature for your needs?
- Question 4 - Obstacles: What are the obstacles to build integrated IoT-Robotics-AI systems today?
- Question 5 - Lessons learned: can you share ONE single lesson learnt in
your experience about integrating IoT, Robotics and AI?
Remember: your presentation is _not_ meant to give a full overview of
your company and projects - just impossible here! You should instead
convey what are the past R&D experiences and the added value in integrating IoT and Robotics solutions.
If you do that, you will ignite a lot of contacts and discussions after the workshop, and there
you can give all the details.
